I suggest adding the ETag and Last-Modified HTTP headers to all the pages and feeds to allow for HTTP response "304 Not Modified" in case the content hasn't been changed.
Advantages: Saves about 10-20% bandwidth/resources, and improves the coverage and freshness of search engines.

Occasionally I like to trawl through the MetaTalk archives. There used to be a link on the front to 'current archives' then 'all archives' but that seems to have disappeared with the introduction of the 'next' and 'previous' links. [more inside]

Two extremely minor things with Ask MetaFilter.
1. Can you add a link to AskMe in the MetaFilter.com header?
2. I have my preferences set to open links in a new window, but they don't do that in AskMe threads.

Given that MeTa is mostly used for private discussions about what goes on in MeFi, should there be links to it on the front page of MeFi for all to see? Would it be more appropriate for it to be discreetly linked from somewhere else or, to take it to the extreme, only available to logged-in users?

Airing dirty linen in public is not usually considered the "done thing" and hiding it from public scrutiny may allow more open and honest discussions.

Someone else wants to see "About MetaTalk" in the void above (right below "MetaFilter Home"). However, I'd like to see a "Donate" link there. Every so often when at Me* I'll say to myself, "Hey, I should donate $1" or I may think, "Hey, how much has Matt managed to get from us?!" and I'll click on Donate. However, when one of those thoughts just hit me a minute ago, I was on MeTa and thus there was no Donate link. Minor request/feature, I know, but it has the potential to raise MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!
