My archives links are gone July 14, 2005 8:38 PM   Subscribe

Occasionally I like to trawl through the MetaTalk archives. There used to be a link on the front to 'current archives' then 'all archives' but that seems to have disappeared with the introduction of the 'next' and 'previous' links. [more inside]

The only way to get there as far as I know is to make a search (not the google one) and then the link is available on the results page. I've bookmarked it for now but the last thing I need is another bookmark. Can we have an 'archives' link on the front like MetaFilter and Ask MetaFilter?

And while we're at it, can I get an automated sort by posts that I have commented in, the way Metafilter (blue) does?

The archives used to be linked in the header, I'll put it back up there.

I've just checked back at archive.org. Although they don't have anything for 2005 what they do have shows the MetaTalk archives being accessed as I posted above. Rather than crowding the header why don't you have it the same as MetaFilter, down at the bottom of the page?

It's in the footer of metafilter because it's also in the header. Look above and know that I'll take out "category list" which is an old version of the home page here, and instead put up an archive page similar to the one on ask metafilter, which has dated archives and archives by category.
