That's a lot of Stucky. (MeFi Fanfic Rec List Checklist)

Back a month-ish ago, Cozybee posted an ask for recommended fanfiction. Friends, we recommended 239 fics. That's a lot of links to keep track of. Being that you're all great people, I really wanted to give them all a try. And I'm kind of a completest and overly-organized for no good reason, and so...I made a spreadsheet. [more inside]

Thank you for the books

I just want to thank the MeFites who faithfully answer all the book questions that get asked here, like this one. And very special thanks for those who include an Amazon link. I know not everyone supports them, but I don't usually buy from Amazon; I export my wishlist to a spreadsheet via Librarything, and take it whenever I go used bookshopping. Thus, I've had many, many hours of great reading thanks to AskMeFi. Having good books to read means a lot to me, and I just wanted to thank you all. [more inside]

I don't care what you like

AskMe Guidelines: "If I like x, what will I also like?" Chatfilter or just supremely irritating? Or do I just have a pickle up my ass again?

Advice on re-posting MeFi to blog?

Advice on re-posting MeFi to blog?

I often repost mefi stuff on my blog, often meaning Several times a week, sometimes multiple times a Day. I have an html template I use but I do keep changing the format a little. I'd be glad for some advice on how to do it right, or acceptably. You can check what I mean at http://radio.weblogs.com/0123486/ or for short http://rootcellar.info

I'll try to be checking back here, but there is the email link on the page.

When your webhost disappears

Akashik? I signed up a few months ago for hosting from these guys after seeing a MeFi textad. They have been down for over 24 hours now... Does anyone know a good place to go when your webhost disappears and they have no phone number and can't email them for help?

Looking for a winamp plugin that gives recommendations

Sorry no link. In a discussion a couple of months ago there was mention of a winamp plugin that would recommend music based on the tracks that you were listening to. I can't find the thread that mentioned this or anything on google. Does anyone remember this? Can anyone post a link?

blogs talking about interesting jobs?

Does anyone know of sites/blog sections that let people talk about interesting jobs? My question springs from the IT Workers Get Back to Basics thread, particularly the guy who turned to music, the guy who wants to move to France and learn to make wine and the archeologist's assistant. I tried a couple of google searches, but didnt come up with anything that really yielded anything interesting.

I grew up in small towns and wasn't terribly outgoing, so I never got to talk to a wide range of adults about what they did and how they got to doing it in the first place. To me, it's one of the most interesting conversations you can have.

Blogs on Medieval history

Of all the blogs out there, I've been unable to find any relating to a field that I'm very interested in: medieval history (or history at all, for that matter). Anybody else out there share this interest or know of any weblogs like this?

Recommendaitons for PHP books?

When writing a weblog in PHP, one must learn PHP. Which book should a beginner pick up for the best results? Matt suggested Julie Meloni's book but it's currently unavailable here. So it's down to either the Wrox book, the SAMS book or the Osborne book. Any suggestions? Or other resources?

Recommend a CMS

Can you recommend a content management system? I'm thinking of starting a small, somewhat commercial site in a similar sense to mefi with a focus on football talk
