Oh god.

Holy crap that's a lot of threads. If only there was some way for this list to be accessed without paperpete having to bang his head against the interweb.

yhbc, I think that thread came a lot later - although it's arguably the most gripping of the lot. In that macabre way. :o/

Plus all of the meta-threads on coverage of the coverage, donations for MeFi members, "when is it going to be over" pleas, and more.

...though my definition was a little generous. It's true tags aren't everyone's forte.

Gosh, does anyone stop to think about the people who were comatose and not brain damaged, who were killed when the power to their hospital failed? If only the republicans had known about that, the aid would've arrived instantly!

Sorry for the omissions. Can anyone wipe up my crap for me and put a few linebreaks in there? It looks like an unreadable lump, stupid boy that I am. :o/

The newest one is the most damning of them all--Bush Administration tried to Blackmail Louisiana Governor into handing New Orleans over to the Feds.

Is there a good rule of thumb for when a thread is dead to the world? A friend of mine wrote a really interesting blog post about his first hand experiences in the Hurricane Pam simulation that was supposed to bring Louisiana a new preparedness plan, but I can't figure out which of the 80 threads to link it in. Some of the FEMA related threads seem most likely, but if they're dead, there's not a lot of point.

jacquilynne, find some more links on the Pam simulation and go for a front-pager. Sounds interesting and nothing I've read on the topic thud far.

I'd just like to point out that (while the conversation immediately WENT that direction, and the information for the post was found while RESEARCHING the history of New Orlean's levy system) post No. 5 in your list "The Great Mississippi Flood of 1927" is NOT about Katrina. Certainly there may be parallels and lessons (learned and unlearned), but it was specifically designed to be a non-Katrina post.

spock, sorry about that. However, the reason I included the thread was that I was trying to include anything which balanced out, in terms of FPP and discussion and links etc., to add to informative / noteworthy MeFi Katrina stuff.
