"thread tracking" eventually "recent activity" October 3, 2001 11:09 AM Subscribe
I know that this would require a lot of coding, Matt, but I would literally pay for a "thread tracking" feature. (more in comments)
Tweebiscuit, you forgot to pay for a pony! ;)

Discussed fairly recently here. But it bears discussing again, especially as fooljay hasn't answered my email requesting access to the cool thingy he's working on.

He set me up with it when that thread was going on, and it's a nice little tool, as far as it's implemented. There are several features that simply don't work, and aren't explained, but it appears you'll be able to share threads and such.
A few bugs, but once it's cleaned up, should be great.

Whoops! I figured that my idea couldn't have been new... sorry for the double-post -- I usually don't read MetaTalk.

tweebiscuit .... Marquis,
I'm using fooljay's toy.
It's super great.
But he hasn't been on MeFi of late. He's probably attending to some crap like "life" or something ridiculous like that ;-)

Bingo.. Life indeed. Sorry I've been away... IM me (not email) and I'll set you up (except for all of those people who wrote while I was away, as you will be set up forthwith)

Since this would be a pretty damn complicated feature, if I were Matt I'd offer it to paying users -- and yes, I'd pay for this feature. "Metafilter Premium!" Heh. And IMHO, it would make MeFi that much more of a dynamic forum.
