XXX porn used as an interactive clothing catalogue March 24, 2006 7:45 PM   Subscribe

OK, trying to figure if this is appropriate or not.
I mean this - NSFW NSFW or many, many, many other places. May be NSFHome either, depending on your home, most homes probably. It's XXX porn used as an interactive clothing catalogue. Seems like it's an "interesting" phenomenon, but I do realize that the content is pretty friggin' iffy. But it's a genre unlike any I've ever seen. Makes you look. Perhaps not at the clothes but...
PS, it's extremely slow to load, and when you load it, it's porn, but it's also a clothing catalogue. Regular clothing. But it's porn, totally porn (tab A in slot B type porn).
Thought I'd try it here first, rather than the blue. Not really appropriate here either, but... Shit, I don't know, it just didn't seem right for an FPP, but seemed really interesting to me too. Go figure.

MetaTalk: feature requests, bugs, any porn you happen to see on a Friday night and feel like sharing with a few thousand strangers, etc.

Cool song. Cute girls, too. But no, not appropriate here.

I don't know why, but god damn if I don't want to run out and buy some Coke.

This Flash porn won't work for me.

My flasher porn, however, hasn't let me down yet... bbl.

Looks semi-interesting, although the man-woman clip seemed awfully clinical/sterile. Probably not appropriate - maybe as a secondary link on a larger post about pornography's increasing presence in the mainstream? In a context like that such a link loses any shock value, and it's pretty clear to anyone clicking on a link in a post about pornography what they should expect.

Call it a Web 2.0 mashup and you're all set.

Also, I really like the music.

What a great marketing concept! C'mon - how often do you think, whenever you're watching a porn clip on the ol' computer, "Gee - I wonder where I could buy those shorts?"

I wish I had a nickel for every time.

Yeah NSFW stuff is okay here, it should just be somehow labelled so folks know what they're clicking on. I didn't check too much into this site, but I'd probably say what Ryvar said, mix it up with some other stuff maybe, but there's no anti-porn rule here generally.

Oh and, when I said "not appropriate here," I meant the Grey. I've certainly put nsfw stuff in the Blue myself before.

My only problem with it is that if I watch the videos that interest me -- OK, OK ... when I watched the videos that interested me -- I saw three outfits for women and one for men. Presumably they took the time to film two more outfits that might look great on me, but I'll never see them. And even if they filmed a few more heterosexual love scenes, I might ... er ... lose interest before I got to see them. Not a good marketing strategy.

So, should I post this on the blue or not?

I thought it was funny. Maybe that's just me.

You're actually looking for votes?

No. Not by itself.

Well, jessamyn's given it her tentative blessing, so . . . seriously, work up a really great post with a few interesting links. I never post to the blue, but what I'd go with is a post trying to highlight the dichotomy of American attitudes towards sexuality, stressing the irony factor of the directly capitalist tie-ins. Maybe two more interesting porn-used-in-unusual-but-strictly-commercial-ways links, a good op-ed on the 'meaning' of the reaction to Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, and something - a news snippet of some sort - casting the FCC as a modern-day antichrist because that will always go over well on MeFi.

If you had put it on the Blue as-is, I would've said, "Cool song. Cute girls, too. Not much in the way of product offering, though. Meh." Find something(s) interesting to pad it with. Could make an interesting post about how "sex sells" is now literal, yadda, I dunno.

Don't take Ryvar's advice too seriously. I mean, if that's the kind of post you want to make, go for it. Otherwise, post it as it is. Just make sure you label it nsfw.

monjou - on rereading, I probably should've qualified my suggestion more. That's just the kind of post I'd find really interesting to read.

The blue is for interesting links. This is an interesting link. Post it.

I agree. Just post it. People will bitch about it but they always do.

Post it. Amazing how well human beatboxing and porn go together; someone be sure to tell Rahzel, who could probably use the paycheck.

Also, Mr. Gumbo, "tab A in slot B type porn" made me laugh uncommonly hard.

It needs nothing else. I hate the idea that now you have to go get some filler. It stands on its own.

You can say that again.

We just watched all three. Checked out the girl-girl one--that brunette chick has pussy-eatin' lips--and my bf asked me, "Are we watching the L-Word?"

Someone needs to show this to Abercrombie. This is the future.

a minor warning as well, the site doesn't let/like you to *coff* back out of it, so there might be other nasties somewhere in there.

Do not post this. It takes too damn long to load, and you'll just get a bunch of comments saying it doesn't work for them and they wish they could see some naked people.
