I'd just like to point out that handee's drawing is evidence of why it would be unfortunate if the < img> tag were banned entirely due to its possible overuse in threads like this one.

I agree that the picture is helpful, but as I said in yesterday's post, linking to an image is approximately the same as displaying it in its full glory. Why wouldn't the question-asker click a link that said "I drew you a picture"?

Not that I'm saying it should happen, but...

If the image tag ever rides off into the sunset, I would hope it only rides off into the sunset in MeFi and MeTa. Since AskMe answers are all supposed to be on-topic, and inappropriate answers can be deleted, images or not, it seems to me there's no good reason to ever get rid of the image tag there, no matter how much it's overused elsewhere on the site.

Well copy and pasting it into vi then removing blank lines reveals it to be a face-and-shoulders portrait of some sort of creature, with the characters "ORLY?" across the chest.

What it's got to do with bicycle seats is anyone's guess.
