I can't post my song to MeFi Music October 10, 2006 4:22 PM Subscribe
I'm having a problem posting a music to MeFi music. It's an MP3, under 3 MB. I'm getting this error message after a few minutes:
The MIME type of the uploaded file "audio/mpg" was not accepted by the server. Only files of type "audio/mpeg, audio/x-mpeg, audio/mpeg3, audio/x-mp3" can be uploaded. Verify that you are uploading a file of the appropriate type.

I like that phrase...it covers the fact that not every piece of music is a song.

it's a browser thing. I'll add audio/mpg as a mime time today. Try again in a few hours.

We've been over this before.
The mime-type that is sent when you submit the file is determined entirely by your browser. This means your browser is identifying the file incorrectly, and so the site won't accept it. Fix your browser, or use a different one.
