Metafilter now "owns" the term "Fat Lesbian", since Google and Yahoo searches for "Fat Lesbian" now pull up my deleted post: Ich Bin Ein Fat Lesbian Oh, if only the rest of life were this simple.

What you don't seem to realize is that all Metafilter deleted threads contain the <meta name="ROBOTS" content="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> tag, which means that the copy you see in the google results is just a stale copy from before it was deleted. When they respider the link it will disappear from their indices entirely.

No please go fuck off and die in a fire or something.

Excuse me, I didn't realize this was the Vestal Virgins portal. Having been a webmaster for years, this is the very first time that one of my posts or pages made it to the top of any search engine like Google or Yahoo. I can't explain it-- all I can do is bask in my fifteen minutes of fame. If my post can make a difference in the life of one "fat lesbian", then all this will not have been in vain. I do support Grace Ross, and realize that any coverage is better than no coverage. If this causes one Mass resident to take a few seconds to consider voting for her, that too would be pleasing to me.

notmtwain, the page will fall from the index in the next few weeks when google does a reindex, so the issue will solve itself.
