Lenticulations post appears on Metafilter as well as Projects December 7, 2006 8:18 PM   Subscribe

Okay, so e.g.,this project also appears on the main site. But on the projects page there's still a [post this to mefi] link.

It would be really great if the site could recognize when a post is made with the same URL as a projects project, and associate the two, so that a) the main post is linked to from the projects page, and b) [post this to mefi] does not appear anymore. The main site post could be marked up too ("by our own whoozitswhat").

crunchland didn't post it from projects though. I could "turn off" the post to projects button if someone uses it once to completion, but I'm not going to check every URL ever posted to mefi before displaying it.

Besides, duplicate URLs should get caught in the auto double-post search.

Yup: I hit the button, and the posting page said "The link you entered (http://www.chinesejetpilot.com/?ID=204) was found in 1 previous thread."

(By the way, the styling for that warning box still shows up with the default blue styling while using the plaintext theme, and is kinda unreadable, Matt. Minor, but.)
