Wooster Street Art Meetup December 10, 2006 3:12 PM Subscribe
What degree and combination of seniority, authority, respect, and recklessness does it take to suggest or organize a meetup? Nil? Is it possible to submit this Wooster Street Art event as the locus of a small NY meetup? It seems that the subject has emerged a couple times recently . . .
from the website:
Friday, December 15th: From 11am to 5pm

I was thinking of Saturday, when I don't work.

I kind of doubt Saturday would work for me, but it might work.

I think this might even be better than the short notice "Marching Balkan Brass Band Pub Crawl", but perhaps just slightly less reckless. I'm still extremely jealous.
I'm still not sure if any mefites showed up for that drunken awesomeness or not. It was pretty awesome.
If they did I hope they're alive still and didn't get lost.

Doesn't answer your question but that wastepaper-sculpture creature in your event link is just sublimely wonderful. I think I'm in love.

Well, what the hell. I will be at Sweet & Vicious next door (not the best bar, but it has Basil Haydn) from 2:30 - 3:00. I hope some other MeFites can make it, and if a Balkan Brass Band shows up even better.
I am probably doing an awful job of this, but I have been out of town for the last few meetups, and I am perfectly fine being alone, drunk, and staring at walls.

Oops. That bar does not open until 4. Rethinking timing . . .

Plan? I usually drink ad hoc, but I think the same time 2:30 to 3:00 down the street at Spring St. Lounge, shark bar, will do. Then down to the 10 Spring St. if anyone wants to join.

I'm in NYC, and I'd love to come to this if I can (work).

All meetup proposals must be cleared first through email to ThePinkSuperhero. And don't tell dame until its set in stone or you'll never arrive at a time/place.

It's true. I'm only letting this one slide because I'll be out of town. Otherwise, off with your head!

I'm pretty headless as it is so I consider "off with your head" an idle threat, or at least minimally aspirational. Anyway, Saturday, Spring St. Lounge 2:30 - 3:00 before ambling down to 10 Spring St.
I will have a bright yellow book. Of my bright yellow books, I am leaning toward one called Minotaur. Hope to see a few more of you there or that at least people see it on their own, looks to be good.

Guest is conscious, has been preparing to leave the apartment for two hours. Sweet person, but now I recall why we broke up. Still aiming for 2:30 with Minotaur in hand.

Well, no. I am sorry for not showing up, but I am not getting out of this apartment until after 2:30. It's beautiful weather out there, and I am waiting for god knows what to occur in the bathroom.
Apologies for failing to meet a promise.
