Short notice Portland OR meetup?
That sounds great -- it'd be wonderful to meet you. We're pretty open so if someone with a little more Portland bar knowledge wants to suggest a venue/date/time we'll make a point of being there.
Also please check your profile email, ludwig_van.

I might be down with a meetup.
Depends on When, Where and the results of a delicate calculation of the ratio of PriceofBeer vs. FundsAvailableForBeer, which is always fluctuating.

LUDWIG_VAN! Holy crapcakes!

Loq, baby, if the PoB::FAFB ratio is the only problem, we can probably manage a program of subsidies.

I am always down for a meetup. I'm assuming we'll have 10 or so people, which limits our options:
* The Rose & Raindrop isn't closing until January 1st.
* Ringlers Pub, underneath the Crystal Ballroom on West Burnside has some large booths. You can smoke in there, but they have good ventilation. And pool. And pinball. And a bathroom that isn't creepy. It's McMenamins, though, so it doesn't have much atmosphere.
* Berbatis, just off of SW Burnside & SW 2nd, isn't bad when there isn't a band playing next door.
* I vaguely recall The Horse Brass Pub being large enough to handle a group, but I haven't been there in years. They supposedly have 50-some-odd beers on tap.
I'll buy you a beer or two, loquacious, but I'm going to expect an amusing story or two in return.

That's why I get paid more than you, man.
The cookies aren't pug-shaped, are they? Because that would be horrifying and delicious.

It looks like Packy and I will be able to attend the show tonight. Hooray! If there is to be a shindig aside from that, any night before the 28th ought to be good for us.

(I'm totally down with a meetup in the next few days, though with family in town I may have to fight for time.)

i made pug cookies once and was told not to do it again so no, the cookies are all cookie shaped. ohhh-k, see you wacky kids tonight with Jerry even. Oh and oddly enough a boy I had art class with in 10th grade. I have not seen him since then but he seems excited to go see the Harvey Girls. Life is wacky. woot.

I probably won't be there tonight, but may be up for any other meetup action in which I trade an amusing story for a beer.

yodelingisfun, you could have told him you were taking him on a sewer treatment center tour and he would have been excited. You have that affect on people, you know?
See you all tonight and if not, later down the road -- this is so great.

Sewage treatment plants are fascinating. Maybe we could take a tour of the Columbia Blvd Wastewater Treatment Plant for a meetup.

Portland, OR, sounds like something out of a sit-com. I mean, you just post a thread, everyone chimes in, offering to bring cookies, buy beers, and oh, isn't HG playing tonight? Awesome.

What does that make Seattle, which sometimes seems even awesomer? Awesomestness?
Err, I mean, this place sucks so fucking much. Don't move here. The beer sucks, the coffee sucks, the girls are all ugly, the air is filthy, the public transportation is horrible, it's an unending urban nightmare and it rains all the time.

Ha! Hey, nicky-new-loq haven't you been in Portland for all of 3 weeks or something?
Anyway, I am on to you but you need not worry. I am not moving b/c of family I would leave behind on the east coast.

Well, that was a tremendous show and an excellent turnout, but we should really have a proper meetup Tuesday the 26th or Wednesday the 27th. What do folks fancy?
Can some one check Rose and Raindrop's schedule for the 26th to make sure they're not (against all reasonable odds) closed? Because that afternoon/evening might be good.
Thanks everyone—yodelingisfun, deepfriedtwinkies, cmonkey, ludwig_van et lovely (non-mefite?) girl Beth, non-mefite Paul, non-mefite Robby and lady, and anyone else I'm gauche/sauced enough to have forgetten, for coming out on such short and incoherent notice. And crunchland, I wish you could have been here.

I can't match cortex's exuberance because I had too much damn much nog and cookies last night but I'll second him: thanks, everyone, sincerely.
Jeez, this is getting muscled off the page fast. Tuesday or Wednesday at Rose and Raindrop or wherever works for us so whatever you folks decide, we'll be there in our Christmas sweaters.

That was an excellent show. And excellent beer, explaining why I slept until 11 and still have a hangover.
Either day is fine with me. Maybe we should do it on Tuesday in order to have ourselves a Boxing Day Meetup where we pretend that we are Canadians and sip authentic Canadian drinks.
