Wow...I hate that bar (cause I'm a hater like that), but it's a five minute walk from this place here where be my house of residence that I live at....maybe I'll err....walk by or something. Or maybe I'll just come in...Tip: If you love Mid East food grab some food at Uncle Mina's which is down the block nearer to Metropolitan Ave next door to the over rated Dumont restaurant (not that you shouldn't go if you want it has a nice ambiance and good food and drinks, but like I said I'm a hater...maybe reserve a table though it gets busy) Anyhow Uncle Mina's is cheap and will blow your socks off. Say hi to Uncle Mina for me (friendly rotund swarthy fellow with a mustache cos he's from the mid east which is a good thing for someone who runs a mid east place right? Right). Try the Shish Taouk, it is excellent. Don't hold it against me if I don't show up...my Staurday's lately have tended to be somewhat ...fluid and umm...unpredictable.

I'm not drinkin' at the moment, and somehow I missed the first thread anyways, which was quite a wonder to behold, and FTR I live in the least cool neighbourhood in all the 5 boroughs so y'all can hate on me for a while, I'll be here, not at the meetup, drinking my soda.

In an alternate universe, my plans to visit NYC didn't get changed to next weekend, and I'm getting antsy thinking about hanging out at one of the coolest bars on the planet with some of the coolest people on the Internets. I hope that other me isn't taking his good fortune for granted.

In a shocking turn of events which may or may not be karma, I've just received the worst haircut I've ever even seen or heard rumored (much less received myself) and am truly embarassed to be seen in public (and the walk of shame home was no picnic). I truly regret missing the opportunity to either continue to fling offensive rants or suck it up, apologize to the group and be nice, whichever would have happened.

Meetup was lovely- a few n00bs, old timers, and lots of old video games. I think the bulk of us dispersed fairly early (8:30 or so) but I think a good time was had by all.

What a night-- there was intoxication, intrigue, and drama. Dame revealed her film-noir name origin to the group, only to find her bag switched for a similar-looking bag at the end of the evening. Suddenly with no money, no phone, and no proof of who she was, she was forced to set out upon Brooklyn's dark streets in search of the truth behind her predicament. There was one nagging clue-- a notebook left behind on the table that was blank except for a single page. Could the dark-trenchcoated stranger, lupus_yonderboy, be trusted to help her? With too much alcohol roiling in her brain, Dame struggled to lay her thoughts in order so she could get to the bottom of it all. She had a hunch that the answer lay somewhere back in that bar, where the electric machines flashed and begged quarters. Something in that frantic, cryptic message that Q-bert blinked over and over. Dame would retrieve her missing bag, all right-- just as soon as she could figure out what "@!#?@!" meant...

I dropped in around 9 PM. There were a couple of people I suspected might be mefites, but I wasn't sure. it all seemed one's and two's. So I left. (Sorta smelled in there no?).
