Saved Favorites Bug

saved favorites is borked again. also noted by another member: "I noticed that last night - things keep getting deleted from my favorites. My most recent post isn't listed for me despite several favorites; the other day, that was there but other earlier posts were missing..."

I haven't noticed things disappearing, but I do notice that it can take a little time for a favorited item to appear in the favorited items page.

I'm not sure it was ever really unborked. I've continued to have comments favorited that never show up on my saved favorites page. I've decided that the obvious solution is to stop making comments that people will want to favorite. So let me just add here that I wish Bush had sent 40,000 new troops to Iraq. American force will make all the difference in the fight beween Sunnis and Shiites.

I think someone favorited a message I wrote that ultimately got deleted on AskMe. I assumed that was why the numbers were off when I looked.

Hmm, I favourited one of grouse's comments, which then got deleted — but the comment remains in my favourites.

More importantly, I continue to make comments that have surely been favorited, and they aren't listed as favorites on either the favorites page or under the comments themselves; if one weren't the sporting type, he might assume these comments hadn't been favorited at all, but I, frankly, refuse to acknowledge this possibility. It's far more likely that the entire system has run amok and the hundreds and hundreds of favorites directed my way have been lost in Metafilter's alligator-infested sewers.

Of course you're right, TGC. I favorite each and every one of your comments several times. I also email them all to everyone I know - even those ingrates who now filter my messages as 'junk'. Soon, my new TGC Today blog will be up and running, so the entire world can benefit from your wisdom.

If I may include a pony in that matter of borking: can we see what "this" is? Like, on this page, instead of just saying "1 user marked this as a favorite:", it would have the actual comment/post above it so that it would make sense when seen out of context.

Ooh, minor setback on the TGC Today blog. It seems my ISP is getting complaints from those ingrates, and they're threatening to terminate my service if I keep emailing TGC's comments to everyone. I can't stop, of course - that would be wrong. Perhaps if I send my ISP a nice gift, they'll relent. I think they'd appreciate a foreskin gift basket.

I also randomly get posts added to my favorites. Things that I never marked (or even read) will appear as favorited by me. It's a little disconcerting.
