What happened to the thread of photos off the p2p networks? Did that link get removed for any particular reason? Was it to make room for the Zelda/Golden Ratio thread? Hmm. I am kind of disappointed.

Thus it has ever been. Letting doubles stand because they're old is the exception and not the rule, and has usually been owed to (1) the thread having been alive and kicking for a very long time before it's caught, and/or (2) significant changes or additions to the linked site or the context provided in the post.

Not according to the official FAQ:
There is no hard and fast rule on when a post is not a double anymore. For an identical URL and a site that hasn't changed in content "a few years" is a good guideline.
Maybe the FAQ needs changing then.
