Okay, let's just talk about hama7.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't get beyond the visceral distaste of his deliberately-minimilaist style, and it's becoming annoying.
Maybe it's the undercurrent of his prior history, and I can't stop thinking that he's deliberately trying to be the anti-
y2karl in his deliberately minimalist style of posting (and not commenting).
What I
do know is that when I see one of his posts it seems jarring in the overall
gestalt of the front page, and I actually go out of my way to NOT click on his link to see if there's anything interesting there. If there is, then I have missed it, but with perhaps a more conventional presentation I (and others?) would have seen and enjoyed it. Politics aside, the basic premise of this "community weblog" is (I thought) to present a topic in a way that makes a reader want to read and learn about it. I don't think the single-link, no-description, no-comment hama7 "style" accomplishes that for the reading public at large, or for the membership here.
As always, I would be interested to see what others think.
