It's too goddam easy to post to MetaTalk. There should be a notice that comes up when you try to post that says "Do you really want to do this? Because if you're just farting around, a boxing glove will emerge from the computer and punch your lights out." posted by mediareport at 10:25 PM on November 5, 2007

I respectfully disagree. This morning I would have liked to post a confirming Denver Meetup post with dates/times/locales, however I was DENIED, since my 7-day posting limit has yet to expire.
and then I come here and find THIS SHIT?!

And it's too goddam easy to make snarky comments on MeTa threads.

While the yuks the poster had in mind were minimal, I did enjoy this at the bottom of the linked page:

man that was a weak-assed deletion reason. I feel so let down, and after such a brilliant trainwreck, too.

Shit! I can't believe I missed that! Especially:
sorry, just nipped out for a brisk nordic walk and a fresh berry shake.
... which was just BEGGING for a comment about his balls. BEGGING for it, man.

Sometimes, you delete first and ask pointed questions ("Is this user a complete asshat?" "How does a person like that sleep at night?" "Seriously, wow, they're actually wholly composed of semi-sentient mucas? For real? Gross!") later. posted by cortex at 8:25 AM on November 6, 2007

Also, I'd to take this opportunity to point out that the band Me. UK Health Food Guru Spammer links to in his profile - h o l o s u n or holosun or whatever the fuck - ssucks. Not just a little, oh-how-cute suck, but a full blown, go-back-to-your-jobs-at-your-dad's-factory-STAT kind of suck. posted by Item at 8:33 AM on November 6, 2007
er, *Mr. UK Health Food Guru Spammer*, not me. I suck in an entirely differently way. posted by Item at 8:34 AM on November 6, 2007
That guys is probably the best spammer we've ever had. Not only did he self link and spam, but he responded to the flames with MORE SPAM!
some guys don't get it. they just keep trying to fight back and salvage their rep, presumably to be able to keep posting spam in the future. others just back off, damage having been done, and never reappear. Not our hero, though! He'll just take what time he still has to keep posting more helpful health food advice! The man has the tenacity of a rabid pitbull, and I respect that.
Or at least, I respect it AND I also want him to fuck off and die. posted by shmegegge at 8:37 AM on November 6, 2007 [1 favorite]
