Also, I think that the definition of "noise" needs to be extended to encompass posts that are just people giving their opinions without providing anything new to the discussion.

The comment in question:
If you want to have sex with a woman who is probably far less wealthy than you and who, all things being equal, almost definitely wouldn't want to have sex with you under those circumstances if it weren't for the fact that she needs the money, then yes, that is still a place where you can do that. I have solid second-hand knowledge that are still enough prostitutes to go around.
As for "worth it," well, that's like asking whether it's "worth it" to pay, say, $13 for a hamburger. It all depends on your preferences and cannot be answered by anyone else for you.
But if you think that using economic coercion to have sex with women is about the most absolutely fucking appalling things there is on this Earth, then I feel pretty safe in saying that it probably won't be worth it.

For what it's worth (no pun intended) I think the quoted commented answered the question, which was "Is it still worth going to the red light district in Amsterdam?"... "Worth going" can mean a lot of things, and the answerer in the callout answered one of the interpretations.

I'd request that the rest of this thread concentrate on 1 having a high user ID rather than the actual content of anything he's said. That's how everyfuckingthing else that's happened with him so far as gone down, and I don't see any reason to violate that Noble Metafilter Tradition.

Spearman's rank correlation rho

S = 20475.94, p-value = 0.908
alternative hypothesis: true rho is not equal to 0

Q: I want a good pork loin. I've always heard Amsterdam has great pork loin but that a lot of the good porkhouses have closed. Is it still worth going?
A: If you want to feast on the blood of an animal that is sentient, feels pain, and is at least as intelligent as your family pet, then yes, that is still a place where you can do that. I have solid second-hand knowledge that there is still enough pork to go around.
As for "worth it," well, that's like asking whether it's "worth it" to pay, say, $13 to torture a bunny. It all depends on your preferences and cannot be answered by anyone else for you.
But if you think that eating an animal that was killed in a terribly painful way for no good reason other than to satisfy your blood lust is about the most absolutely fucking appalling things there is on this Earth, then I feel pretty safe in saying that it probably won't be worth it.
Yeah, the comparison is not entirely apt (prostitution is illegal, etc.). But it illustrates the simple fact that 1's answer was a moralizing screed thinly disguised as a barely-helpful "answer" ('solid second hand information' is hardly useful), about an activity that is, like it or not, fully legal in the place that the questioner asked about. I'm no fan of prostitution, and happen to agree with 1's underlying point. But this was not an answer, it was a slapdown.

This is actually empowering to the animal involved. Many of these pigs have no other skills and no desire to develop other skills. They like being food. It give meaning to their lives.

How is 1's answer not a valid answer to the question asked?
This is the part that actually answers the question:
yes, that is still a place where you can do that. I have solid second-hand knowledge that are still enough prostitutes to go around.
As for "worth it," well, that's like asking whether it's "worth it" to pay, say, $13 for a hamburger. It all depends on your preferences and cannot be answered by anyone else for you.
The stuff before and after is a judgmental attack on the poster's question, which is not supposed to happen in AskMe, regardless of how any of us might feel about the issue involved. It's more than enough to delete the answer, especially coming from a user who's been very unclear on how AskMe operates in the past.
