Is it possible to change a MeFi username? April 4, 2008 9:11 PM   Subscribe

It's important that I change my username--the reason deals with online identity cleanup. Is this possible, or must I create a new account? Thanks in advance.

Perhaps you should ask the admins.

A pole greasin' sounds like fun, which I've had, and I don't think this is going to be.

If you're new enough they'll change it for you, otherwise I think you're shit out of luck

If it's not too late, can I still get the pole greasin'?

If we're doing username changes, can I get this fucking underscore removed from mine?

Really? I thought that was intentional. Like a pan for your leaking CSF.

Rewally? Not even these?

And, yes "rewally" IS a word. I'm sure of it.

In fact, I think that's what boeing82 wants to change his username to.

Either that or "shit out of luck".

Boeing lost the contract. Maybe Airbus? Lockheed? Douglas?

Of course. Few people wally perfectly the first time.

I am intrigued and would like to sign up for the ol' grease treatment. No really I'm not even joking here I am serious about this.

Wait up here, who's going to be applying the grease? This is an important question.

The greasemonkey, of course. Haven't you been reading your script?

FYI to any future people attempting to do this: Google indexes things really fast now, so a search for the original posters user name brings up various things, including this thread, which might hinder the "online identity cleanup" process. Just sayin'.

Generally speaking if you're really new to the community and don't have much of an online reputation/identity here, we'll do it. Otherwise no, you have to close the old account (as I am closing this thread!) and re-open a new one.
