Anyone for a Baltimore pile on?

I'm thinking maybe the 25th, at Three...in Patterson Park? Or do folks have any other ideas? Sunday afternoon at Artscape? One of the free concerts in Patterson Park?

Might could.

I'm down for a meetup, but I can only do Saturday or Sunday nights, cause I work the other nights. So, I vote for Sunday Artscape.

I might be available. Artscape is fun, but isn't really much of a meetup spot.

If only this were a month later...I'm moving to Baltimore in the middle of August. Perhaps another one sometime in the fall?

Yeah, I only suggested Artscape because it was during the day, which is a good time for this transit-riding woman to get out.

Advil, I'm calling this one because the last one was right before I moved to Baltimore, and no one has tried since. So, when you get here, call one .

Sat. or Sun. evenings are fine with me. Or a Sunday afternoon at High Grounds, in Highlandtown? They have awesome coffee, right on the 10 bus.

Three? What about people with jobs?

Three...is a restaurant/bar at Linwood and E. Baltimore.

Ah, yes, Three.... In the words of the City Paper, possibly the word's hardest-to-Google restaurant.

I could definitely go for a meet-up, assuming I'm free. That said, for entirely selfish reasons I think I'll propose holding it at Piratz Tavern in Silver Spring. I'm still pissed that I missed the last one, you see.

I can't get to Silver Spring without renting a car or getting a ride, myself.

The other hard thing about googling Three... is that they only have a crappy MySpace page.

Food is meh, but the desserts are great.

Silver Spring is D.C., not Baltimore.

I vote more bar, less restaurant.

How about the 19th? It is a Sat.

Airhen suggested Dougherty's, by the Meyerhoff. I've never been there, but it is a lot more central than Three... On the other hand, I'll have to leave early. Buses back home from downtown on a Sat. night are rare.

If we do Three..., I can stay later. Like past 7:30.

I can commit to either.

What do you guys think?

The date works for me.

The 19th is no good if the destination is Dougherty's. That place gets packed during Artscape. I'd prefer the next weekend.

We could take it south of artscape (Midtown Yacht Club in Mount Vernon, which I suggest mostly because it's almost never packed, or somewhere around there) but still be on light rail/bus lines and not too far from the subway. Or we can take it to somewhere in Patterson Park, like QIbHom originally suggested.

Don't forget the Unruly afterparty for Artscape at the Paradox -- ghettofabulous, but it's Baltimore Club Music, y'all...

I'm hearing a distinct antipathy towards E. Baltimore.

The weekend after Artscape sucks for me. I should have remembered when it is, sorry. After all, I'm volunteering down there.

Never been to the Midtown Yacht Club. 15 E. Center St. City Paper seems to like it. How about there on the 19th, starting at 6 or 7?

That works for me.
Does this mean empath is coming to Baltimore for us? (No one from D.C. ever comes to visit Baltimore. Pout.)

Airight. Posted. I'll be there starting at 6. I'll be the old, uncool person with the stuffed crab.

I'm probably out for the Artscape weekend. If you want to go for any of the next few weeks, I'm down.

Are we talking stuffed animal crab or a crab stuffed with something that you will be eating?
posted by Airhen at 1:08 PM on July 10, 2008

My red stuffed crab, with baby crabs in the zipper innards.

I'm too embarassed to wear the crab hat.

I figure even in Baltimore, no one sits in a bar with a plushie crab.

I'll be for sure in Bmore on the 18th... I'll be recovering from a hangover on the 19th.

Thanks, QIbHom and Airhen. That quite a night.

We have no photos, but Zennie made the trip from the D.C. suburbs AND sang great karaoke AND met my weirdest friend.

Thanks, guys. That was fun. I'm sorry I missed your weirdest friend, Airhen, but karaoke scares me.
