There's something the matter with Glasgow, can we meet up and sort it out ?

I'm going to check the pulse of the scottish mefites here and bravely propose a meetup in glasgow with a cast iron guarantee of my own attendance in the land of the burning giro.
- I may even bring scones.
Thats right, you heard me, scones, delicious tasty scones and that, maybe a bottle of ginger if you're lucky.

video of the last meetup, which was a resounding success apparently.

I have an uncle named Collier, but I don't live in Scotland.

I'll be in town from July 10-20, but I'm guessing that's too short notice.
Anyway, I'm just a 'daft' American 'on holiday' and won't be of much interest to the 'weegs.'

Well I'm through in Embra, but I could possibly be tempted across by scones.

I'm traveling a bit in the coming weeks but if the timing's right I could be tempted into making a trip down the M8 too.

how about after the by election? 25-30 of July? I may be able to make one earlier but can't guarantee it due to omg by election.

also, that video seems to be driving around the west end, boo! Profoundly unrepresentative. Let us meet up somewhere on the south side, Out of Towners are welcome to stay at my place, we have 2 spare bedrooms.

Rather than Glasgow, why not have it in Edinburgh during the fringe? There's always a bunch of Mefites in town for that -- including me -- and it's only a few miles down the road.

because the place is full of fire eaters, jugglers and silvery robot men and while some mefites might be there, they'll be too busy to bother with the likes of you or i my friend.
Or too pished, or too busy/pished.
Or just very stressed out about jugglers - look, the fringe is absolute rubbish - it's a feeder for men & motors presenters - you've not got joan littlewood doing something in a hall or anything like that anymore - come along in june or july - it's so much nicer, quieter and if i may say so, more reflective.

It's not so much a meet-up, then, as like an underground railroad to help us Edinburgh-types escape from the silvery robot men... Thank god - we always knew you'd come.

OK, I confess. My wife and kids *force* me to go. I was hoping that I'd have an escape for at least a few hours.

No, but there's always Jerry Sadowitz.

So, date, time, location?

I'm defo up for an Edinburgh festival-time meetup instead/as well, though. I'll be through most days in August, but not ultra-busy now that the film festival has moved to June.

I was hoping that I'd have an escape for at least a few hours.

Maybe the sgt. could suggest an out of the way spot free of jugglers and fire-eaters?

ok then - lets try for edinburgh in august (i vote for anything but the last week) and i will tell you all where to go to avoid the mime artists but i'd be breaching confidentiality codes and i'm not sure if people could make it on their own, it would be worth it though - i suggest the sheeps heid at duddingston we could do the SECRET GARDENS if anyones up for some niceness, it's just over the road, it's free on the 19th of august also and a better part of Edinburgh you will not see.

Sheeps Heid on the 19th sounds alright to me. Anyone else?
