Do you sell things you have made on Etsy?

If so, please link to your shop to satisfy those of us with dual Etsy and MetaFilter addictions.

Earlier discussion about mathowie and Etsy.

Etsy is on the list of sites MeFites want added to the Social Explorer options. Any work towards updating the available sites would be appreciated. Now, we return you to your regularly scheduled MeTa thread:

Here's a list of online Shops by MeFites. It's not Etsy-specific and it's old enough (nearly a year) that some of the links might be dead, but hey, good times.

Yeah I suggested this thread so that we could update the Shops page in time for holidaytime this year. I'm not sure Etsy is really "social" (someone correct me if I'm wrong) enough to be on the Social Explorer, but it would be nice to have a list someplace of Etsy shops.

Considering the recent grumbling about the vibrator lady and seo spammery, the timing of this thread is almost comical.

Ooooh! Me! My Etsy Shop!

My birthday is coming up next week, the best gift in the world is if you BUY MY STUFF. Not that I'm, um, into self-promotion or anything...

I think it is. I mean, I don't think it's any less social than Flickr, which is at it's heart a photo site with a bunch of social networking apps nicely bolted on. Etsy is a selling venue with a lot of the same stuff attached. In addition to all of the messaging, forums, blogging and discussion features it has, Etsy also has self-organised but officially listed and supported "street teams" which bring real world people together based mostly on craft or location to work together in marketing efforts. There's also the demos and stuff at the Brooklyn HQ.

Regardless, I would LOVE an etsy icon in profiles.

I'd definitely be into having an Etsy icon in my profile.

"I'm not sure Etsy is really "social" (someone correct me if I'm wrong)"

You can fave items/shops you like, exchange messages with sellers and request custom items to be made for you. That's pretty social to me. And productive!

I didn't make it myself, but my business partner and I designed a luxury silk lingerie bag and got one of our favourite lingerie designers to make it for us, and we're selling them on Etsy. I think i mentioned them in the aforementioned shops thread, but the link has moved to an Etsy store now.

I've got some photo prints up there, and then there's, um, a junk guitar class!

I don't have an etsy shop, but anyone interested in sending me money can MeFi Mail me and I'll give them my address.

It isn't that easy DU. You have to offer something in return more than just your wit and snappy repartee.

On behalf of my friends...

rupertandkrista.etsy.com

Wonderful custom pouches (she made mine out of an old t-shirt I never wore) and custom orders. She also made me damask pillowcases and coasters and I'm commissioning her to make me a custom duffel bag. The girl can sew!

Puppet Underground!

It's technically my significant other's shop, but I feel close enough to production to feel proud of those little monsters.

(So maybe the photos aren't the highest quality. I know. sigh.)

Pinkerton should totally be the MeFi mascot.

purpleshiny.etsy.com

Still not sure what my "niche" is--so far it seems to be "wearable things inspired by being on the internet too much", so steampunk-looking stuff and things that go OM NOM NOM NOM.

Space Kitten has two etsy shops: waywardshiftys and mustacheunderpants, for all your steampunk fashion needs.

Custom items by request. Enjoy!

I don't make things (rather, I don't sell the things I make), but I sell vintage clothes and the occasional weird thing.

I do all kinds of needlework (but mostly knitting and sewing), stained glass, and fine art, but don't sell what I make because I don't really produce enough. I make about sixty items a year, but need them for myself, my house, and as Christmas and birthday presents for my large family and my friends. However, Etsy is a good place to visit just for the ideas/inspiration and to buy stuff, and also I want to get my dad, a woodworker, to sell his work on there.

Mrs. rikitikitavi sells wicked cool cloth napkins in her etsy shop, as well as some baby items such as bibs. It's pretty neat to not have to throw anything away after dinner.

My girlfriend sells prints and paintings, our old studio mate sells tiny stuffed animals, and for any interested Western Mass mefites, I'll be with them both at the Etsy-sponsored Twist fair in Northampton this weekend.
