NYC, first round on me October 5, 2008 2:19 PM Subscribe
New York I love you, but you're bringing me down... because you don't have any meetups scheduled. We can fix this.
Any interest in a meetup on Friday, Oct. 17, or Saturday, Oct. 18? In all my sidebar-watching time on MeTa, I don't think I've ever seen a time when there was no New York meetup listed in the "recent" or "upcoming" sections.
I'll be working near City Hall, and staying LES, but I'm pretty flexible as to where we go and what we do. I'm more than happy to defer to locals on the details. I must admit, though, that Katz's is a highly convenient (and tasty) location for a meet-up to end, as far as I'm concerned.
If that weekend doesn't work, do NY MeFites do weeknight meet-ups? I'm in Manhattan from now through Nov. 8, but my weekends are pretty limited. Other than the coming week, mid-week is cool too.

The 17th works for me, jubu. As for large, neutral drinking zones, we often do Revival, HiFi was pretty accommodating, and I've always thought Bua on St. Marks would be good for a meetup, though probably only on a weeknight.

Ooh, I can actually come to this one.
Um, as long as you guys are ok with me doing there what I do on the site- ie, contributing practically nothing and lurking in the corner, quietly judging you all.

ok. Let's make it official. Friday October 17 at 7:30pm at Revival.
(I can't post to the official sidebar because, oddly, I have no access to a device with flash at home of work at the moment, and that is a requirement of the add meetup page. Anyone want to lend a hand?)

I'll be in Chicago that weekend....which is a shame, since this time a hurricane wouldn't have stopped me, considering how close to home this place is. Enjoy!

That was the greatest night.
We should start scanning the society columns to see if any good ones are coming up. We just missed the Howard Stern wedding. Now that would have been a hoot.

Full coverage, zoo: medical, dental, vision, you name it. As far as the EU citizenship goes, I don't have it. Ahh, but I am a member of the Sierra Club and a cheese of the month club.
Please tell me you own a DVD player, a bicycle, or, at the very least, a subscription to the New Yorker; after all, you need to bring something to the table.

Hey everyone, I'll be going to this Mexican wrestleing art thing nearby:
"Please join us for the Luchadores Match!!!, Friday, October 17th, 7pm.
art.les.nyc studios is located at 202 Rivington Street (between Ridge
and Pitt Streets)"
I'll poke my head into Revival after to see if anyone is still there. The event should be pretty nutty, but i do not want to step on the meetup by urging folks to check it out.
But mefimail me if you want more info.
