But that post belied his fame.

I can't tell you what a disappointment this thread is. the only "migs" I know is the one who flung semen at clarice starling. I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it.

lukemeister, I think he's Spanish or something, and writes books. Yeah, one of those types.

I see, Astro Zombie. I myself cannot. You use Right Guard deodorant, and sometimes you wear "Spirit by Antonio Banderas," but not today.

I think that Migs masterfully deflated the high expectations of his return with a brilliantly lame parody of a SLYT post, so that he could mix with the rest of us without everyone going all "We're not worthy" and that annoying shit.

Or maybe he just made a lousy post. Either way, welcome back.

Masterful, indeed.

Fingers still crossed for another treatise on fodinha obrigada or perhaps single-malt scotch.

Shame to treat a bucking bull that way. If you ride 'em for much more than 8 seconds, they may not buck the next time.

More on these "animal athletes," as the Professional Bull Riders league calls them.

Two guys, an old-timer named Cardosa and a young man, are pushing their carts around the supermarket when suddenly they collide.

The old-timer says to the young guy, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife, and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

The young guy says, "That's OK. It's a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate."

The old guy says, "Well, maybe we can help each other. What does your wife look like?"

The young guy says, "Well, she is 24 yrs old, tall, with blonde hair, big blue eyes, long legs, big boobs, and she's wearing tight white shorts, a halter top and no bra. What does your wife look like?"

Cardosa says... "Doesn't matter about mine ... let's both look for yours".

Miguel is helpful like that!

How very depressing to know I've still got what it takes to be deleted.

You'd think I'd learnt a thing or two by now - but no. With time, perhaps, it will only get worse.

Though I do get sorrier for every shitty post, dammit.

I can no longer handle the shame, either. I hope you're all satisfied, you jaded bunch of maniacal slavedrivers I love so much.

You've just got to stay limber, Migs. A little more here-and-there commenting, a steady presence amongst the hoi polloi, an immersion in this our daily threadiana. In good time the blood will return, stinging and tingling, to your posting fingers.

posted by vacapinta at 9:56 AM on October 8, 2008

Migs is a kind of waterfowl.

I was sure that after someone "hacked" the Jack account, and someone else posted a list of users with 0 posts (some with user IDs in the HUNDREDS), someone had gone back and tried to hack into some of those accounts, remembered Migs, hacked into his account, and made a post under his name.

I am still not sure this is the real Miguel Cardoso.

Anyway, a cool girl in my office is Portuguese (actually from the Azores), and she has never asked me for a fodinha obrigada. Either the original Migs is full of it, or living in the middle of the Atlantic for generations destroys the Portuguese spirit.

lukemeister: "So what *is* Mr. Cardoso known for?"

He is like unto the moon and stars. He is the wind under Mefi wings. He is as necessary as oxygen, and as desired as a 1945 'Hermitage, La Chapelle. He is a prescient paragon of panache. He has evolved eyebrows and compassionate shoulders.

We lurves him, my precious.

God damned noobs. LURK MOAR.

And that commercial was pretty tight, especially the audio. Point blank, you are full of shit, Mimgzy; there is nothing "Nazi" about it, not even in the aesthetic Riefenstahl sense. If something is dark, and makes you feel anxious or unsettled, that doesn't mean it has a Nazi aesthetic, just because that's how Nazis make people feel. That's ridiculous implicit reasoning and the opposite is closer to the truth. In fact a lot of visual and aural dark aesthetics are heavily influenced by (or seek authenticity from) Germany, and German aesthetics like expressionism. But Nazis opposed those art styles, as faggy emo bullshit. Remember the Nazis were all about Classicism and Romantic Realism, not the grotesque gothy shit that still heavily influences modern art and pop culture. "Brutal/violent/primal" may describe Nazis themselves (and a whole lot of other things), but not the kind of artistic expression Nazi's preferred or approved.

I don't get it. Are they trying to imply that driving an Audi is like riding a bull? I thought the German cars had better suspension than that.
