A year ago today,
one man had
a vision that would
bring together dozens of
MeFites towards the heartwarming common goal of
blowing the hell out of each other in Team Fortress 2.
Subsequent ad hoc MeTa posts eventually led MeFi luminary
stavrosthewonderchicken to throw up a
simple forum for everyone to use as a
point of contact - and the
MeFight Club was born.
Since then, the loose-knit "clan" has grown and matured: adding a
public server to the mix, the organization of an
elite contingent of competitive players,
a webcomic shoutout, meetups, baked good exchanges, in-house tournaments, and ten-years worth of enjoyment crammed into the last 365 days.
Now, with a current membership of almost 350, the group remains the nicest, coolest, and most fun people who have ever assembled to play games together.
The only requirements for membership are a MetaFilter account, good sportsmanship, and a high tolerance for silliness.
Team Fortress 2 isn't your thing? Well, we also have been known to hunt each other down like dogs, repel alien invasions, cause chaos in the streets of Liberty City, and even occasionally live like Rock Stars.
