All I know about finance, I learned on mutant's user page ... or I would have if I had time to follow the links and read the books. I wish I could get some gold farmers to read them for me.

I can't express the level of appreciation I have for Mutant's participation here, as well as all the regular cast of contributors to our financial threads. It's not just the information I've gotten from you guys, it's the frame of mind and references to sources that have been so useful.

And while I can't say that I feel like I understand global finance any better for having read all of those threads, each new thread has expanded my awareness of the scope of my ignorance - so keep at it!

Yeah, Mutant is kinda badass. I regret that the one chance I had to meet him, I had left the meetup early because I didn't know that he was going to show up. Come back to NYC, Mutant! We need you here!

Seriously, I mean, we really need you here. I feel like the cosmic Mutant/Malor balance has been way out of whack on the trading floors recently.

I used to get Mutant and Malor confused because they both start with M and they're about the same number of letters. It really messes with my head.

Folks sorry I'm getting to this late - I had a lot on and was away from Metafilter for a while.

In any case, thanks for the kind words about my contributions - much appreciated.

Yeh, those people have been in touch but I've told them I'm hardly an expert on the topic. Its just an interesting index that I've been aware of and thought (correctly it would seem) that the MeFi crowd would appreciate reading about.

The Baltic Exchange is full of experts on that index, folks that would be far, far more knowledgeable (and presentable since they also asked about going on camera - yikes!) than I.

Costume?!?? No, I'm frugal. I've bought that shirt in 1987 and I'm gonna get my moneys worth, damnit.
