Anyone interested in a fantasy movie league? It's like fantasy foot/basket/baseball but not. It's with movies.
I've been doing it for about a year now and have found that's it's good nerdy fun. Especially if you are obsessed with movie box office totals, release schedules and per-theatre-averages.
It's based on the N.A. release schedule, but it's not restricted to American movies. Pretty much anything scheduled to be released in the USA for the next three months is fair game.
I have a league started that runs from Nov 7 through Feb 2, encompassing the very interesting holiday/pre-Oscar season. I guess MeMail me with questions?

Is this not something like the Hollywood Stock Exchange?

Ooh, it sounds fun. A little bit like the Hollywood Stock Exchange, I'm guessing?

It's through Fantasy Moguls. I've been looking for other websites that offer the like, but this is pretty much the only thing like it at the moment.
I guess it's sort of like Hollywood Stock Exchange, but also sort of not. You're given a virtual $100 to buy movies, with each movie set at a certain dollar amount based on it's box office projection, potential IMDB rating and some other stuff as well. For example, in the season going on right now (through the end of November), the Quantum of Solace is going for $45 of my virtual $100. More than one person can buy a movie, so in theory everyone in a league could buy it. I haven't been in a league where everyone has the same exact slate, but I guess it's possible.
You can sort of see how it works here. One of my movies didn't have an IMDB score last week, which hurt my score. I guess the key is to have a range of blockbusters and high-rated movies, with the ringer being a movie that's both (like Ironman). Juno was my big winner last year, and strangely Eagle Eye this season.

I just think that you, fiercekitten, should get together with fiercecupcake, bitterkitten, and cupcakeninja, and form some sort of Fantasy Cupcake Kitten Fierceness League.

Here's the link to the league. Anyone interested will have to register first, then they can join the league. It's private, due to too many people I didn't know and had no way of contacting joining my public leagues. I'll MeMail those interested the password. Or you can MeMail me.
