Ottawa meetup on the 20th of February, any takers?
In light of the recent developments in the OC Transpo fiasco (*crosses fingers*) I say we celebrate with an Ottawa MeFi meetup. I'd suggest the 20th of February, which is a Friday night.
What say you?

I should be able to make it.

Wait, nevermind. That depends on whether or not I'm in NYC at the time. 50/50 at this point...

Hmm, well, three is better than one, and four is better than three :)
How does 7 PM sound? Does anyone have a suggestion for a venue? Do the prices at Oh So Good offend anyone?

Both time and location are good for me.

I would be fine with this point in the space/time continuum.

I know it's still two weeks away (and I'll stick it on the meetup sidebar) but I'm actually starting to somewhat doubt the validity of Oh So Good as a choice for a forum meetup, heh. It feels like it'd have less flexibility in terms of who shows up or not, and isn't too friendly to people wandering in and out.
Other options I'd like to lay before the table: Zak's, or the ever-present Vineyards.

Interested!
I'd prefer somewhere that serves alcohol.

I'm 18. If we're looking for booze, can we do Hull?

Off! Lawn!
No, I'm just joking. Vineyards, and I imagine most places in the market, will ID if you order booze but not otherwise, and thus you are free to hang out with the older, more alcoholic folks.
Unless you were actually planning on goign on a bender, which is another story entirely.

I'd be interested in this meetup
(always looking for stuff to do in Ottawa :P)
second the booze request (vineyards nice for this)
but if such a venue excludes anyone, then a non-boozy place is cool too -
although I think Phire is right and we can find a place to serve both

Vineyards, then? Around 7 PM on the 20th? We'll have a sign on a table saying "MeFi" or something.

Never thought I'd be saying this, particularly in February, but you guys talking about the market is making me homesick. No one makes poutine like those Russian death metal guys in the little shack next to the Dominion. I'll be there in spirit, imagining a quart in hand and a mean guy with a mohawk giving me the stink-eye. Oh yeah--I'm pretty sure the Dom never IDs anyone.
hey does Eugene at Zaphod's still have the same haircut?

Unless I can push through my take-home midterm, I won't be able to attend. I promised my professor a rough draft for Saturday.
I apologize for my negligence. If I'm unable to attend, best wishes to all.

Vineyards at 7PM on Friday the 20th is the plan.
I'm counting a pretty definite yes from: Phil, benign, myself, dum2007, sloe, ricochet_biscuit, and Monday, stony Monday, with Kiki and flibbertigibbet as maybe. Is that it?
Kiki, I'm sorry to hear you might not be coming. Good luck on your midterm.

It depends entirely on whether or not I'm over the hump on this very bad cold I've come down with. Either way, I want to see you, if only briefly, before you jet back to Kingston.
