Chicago April MeetUp

It's nearly time for the monthly Chicago MeFi meetup!

After consulting with Mr. eamondaly, I've decided to go ahead and post notice of next month's meetup.*

The first of April is Wednesday, or April Fool's Day as it's colloquially known. So this is an early heads-up for those of us who let the monthly meetup sneak up on us...

Date/time: 04-01-09 6pm
Where: Billy Goat Tavern (under Michigan Ave.)

Does this work for everyone?

*Beards optional.

Speaking of beards, lift 6 went horribly, horribly wrong today. I might lose the whole thing altogether by April 1st!

My GF, every month surprised when I say I want to go to these, and don't, has graciously volunteered to come pick my drunk ass up if I do. That makes it more likely that I'll be coming, but given that all previous times I've said I'd come I haven't, I'm not going to say anything further at this time.

That's about as coherent as I can write that sentence at 3:20 on a Friday, so, if it needs to be translated on Monday morning, I'll be happy to do just that.

Alrighty. I added a link to the front MeTa page. For those of you just joining us:

The Honorable Eamon Daly will be lifting a small child with his beard on Friday night at Emmit's Pub - 495 N. Milwaukee at around 8pm. This coincides with the Gapers Block get-together which means free beer for the first 150 people (why can't our Meetups ever feature free beer?)

We will still have the regular April 1st MeetUp at the Billy Goat next Wednesday!

Yeah, how long did you stay? I'm always amazed at how drunk I can get from just a couple beers, but the ol' 2n2 (two glasses of water and two Aleve before bed) did good by me again this time.

My Chicago Card got on at Lake and Randolph at 1:59 AM. Then it rode the CTA Bus at 3:27 AM, another CTA Bus at 4:29 PM, and finally the El at 79th Street. Then I ordered a replacement card, because I was pissed it was having so much fun without me.
