What CAN'T his beard lift? April 9, 2009 9:46 AM   Subscribe

Update on this project, which became this thread on the blue: turns out eamondaly's beard can lift a 50-pound child.

More photos of the amazing feat of strength that took place at last week's Chicago meetup, which helped eamondaly reach $6,081.00 in donations for the Off the Street Club.

The de-bearding--or post-bearding--is Saturday, 3pm-6pm at Hamilton's at Devon and Broadway. Me & the Guy may or may not be there. Depends on the other circumstances of the weekend.

It sure did.

Y'all Chicago bammas are some strange dudes. I'm going to hold a contest to see if my hand can lift a full size beer at our next meetup.

Sigh. Somehow, I missed that thread, SpiffyRob. I was sure someone would have posted it, and looked through MetaTalk to make sure, and, well, poo.

(and there is lots of Indian yogi penis lifting going on out there as well, though usually not for charity)

yeah, I'm having trouble getting people to lift my penis for charity too.

I love that they made the kid wear a helmet.

We are all lifted by his hairy appendage.

I love that they made the kid wear a helmet.

I do too, but then I got to thinking. The helmet would really only be useful in case of catastrophic beard failure. In which case, if I were the kid, I would be less concerned about hitting my head on the floor than by the prospect of the detached beard being propelled rapidly towards my face.

Thanks, everybody! And if you were disappointed by the lack of carnage and would like to exact your petty, resentful hate on The Beard, you've only got until 20:44:23 PDT to do so! Shave it, curl it, dye it, randomly apply an electric shaver to it: my beard is your beard if you're the highest bidder.

And Chicagoans, as crush pointed out, there's a farewell party this weekend at Hamilton's at Devon and Broadway at 3pm. We'll have free pizza and the final cut of the Beardumentary, plus lots and lots of hugs and liquor. Come on by!

Finally, thanks again to Meta folk: y'all have been huge supporters and I really, truly do appreciate what you've done for me and Off the Street Club. You're good people. Don't go changing.

I love that they made the kid wear a helmet.

I want to know what the kid was shouting through that megaphone.

"You call that a beard? I've got stronger pubic hair than that beard, and I've only got three so far!"

Damn. My beard just lifts my spirits.

Also: this sort of thing is why I miss the people of Chicago.

A beard so manly it can raise a child? Kudos, sir!

No worries, ocherdraco. No harm in calling more attention to it.

And, that said, I'm actually happy you made the post, because now I know about Saturday, and I'll try to go. (Huzzah for doing things as far north as possible!)

I love that this guy is lifting things with his beard, and that he's doing it for charity.

That said, do we really need an update here every time he lifts something? It's been posted on the blue, the grey, and in projects, and if I wanted to follow the project, I would have already subscribed to his RSS feed.
