Meet-up in Toronto sometime in late Sept?

I'm not sure if this is too early, but I thought it would be good to get a general idea from some folks to see if Sept. 24-27 was a good time for a meet-up (it's close to my b-day). I was trying to get up there this past April, but getting laid off kind changes plans, ha. Any festivals or events going on? I'm ready to take a vacation and meet some new friends ;-).

I'm afraid I'm not privy to this "nerd meet-up" scenario...as I type to you from my hacked Palm Pre :-).

But I'm down for whatever. I MUST go to a gay bar once throughout the vacation. It's kinda like my civic duty to do so (fellow gays know what I mean). Let's make this meetup LARGE, diverse, and interesting!

Rock Climbing? Video gaming? Alcoholism (?!)? Clubbing?

All the above?

Sure. And alcoholism is a general feature of MeFi meetups.

I'll take you out gaying, depending on the precise sort of gaybar you want to go to. There are some here that make me want to punch kittens.

I’m gonna suggest, absolutely just suggest, two joints in my neighbourhood, the Roy and Ceili Cottage. Or we could try north of Bloor.

My idea is the sites should be somewhat distributed around the city over time, though always at least nominally reachable by TTC. Actually, as a transit fan it could be interesting to find somewhere across the street from Bessarion station or something – just for the image of 20 MeFites crammed into the elevator on the Sheppard subway.

The recent review of Ceili Cottage leaves me significantly underwhelmed with regards to food there.

I'd support somewhere east of the Valley for the next meetup, sure, but the point of this one seems to be more Village-based, unless we are--brace yourselves--going for a multi-day meetup.
