Problem is most of those are still in the drydocks, so it would probably be more like hanging out in jersey... posted by mrzarquon at 8:18 PM on July 3, 2009

Europe seems terribly poorly represented. Nothing in Spain, France, Germany, any of the low countries. Here in Southern Spain, my nearest meet is in London - 1616km away as the crow flies (according to Wolfram|Alpha). Shame... posted by benzo8 at 12:17 AM on July 4, 2009

I think a lot of the Dutch mefites are actually going to the London meetup. posted by atrazine at 12:44 AM on July 4, 2009
benzo8 I think this is the occasion to have a bigger european meetup.
I got a bit tired of the Dutch meetups that tend to be 2 - 3 people. So I tried to organise a meetup for the whole of europe in Berlin. When that fizzled I joined the London meetup.
Short version: join us in London. I'm sure you can crash on some local mefites couch.

I don't know what conditions are like at the pole (besides cold even for a Canadian I'm guessing) or whether station members are allowed to go outside but if they can it would be very awesome for them to make a quick trip around the pole during the meet up there by allowing us to claim a meet up in every longitude. IE: an atomic around the world meet up. posted by Mitheral at 3:34 PM on July 4, 2009
