Cortex & brother, Baltimore, Sept 19?

So, as has been pointed out, there is a gap in the sidebar. Unfortunately I may or may not be on a plane elsewhere that day, but I figured I might as well make the post so that hopefully something can happen. (I will attend if I'm not on a plane.)

Some previous places that I think meetups have happened: brewer's art, club charles, windup space, dizzy issie's. A few other possibilities that come to mind: rocket to venus, friends (in fells point), one world cafe, ...?

I'm interested. I'm not 100% certain I'll be in town that day, but it's pretty likely. One more alternative: Dougherty's. Same general locational advantages as Brewer's, cheaper (and good) food, possibly a better initial staging ground since it has a more open layout and smaller crowds. But I do love showing off Brewer's to visitors, so I could get behind that, too.

I'm for Dougherty's as well. It's huge and centrally located. Also, very cheap.

I'm a maybe. Rugby match earlier in the day, not sure whether I'll be recovered enough to make it out (although this may be my only chance to murder cortex and steal his magical amulet).

Thirding Dougherty's. Brewer's is great, but also loud and crowded. And Dougherty's usually has $8 pitchers.

Baltimooooore!

electroboy, you can always show up unrecovered. Sure, low HP and all that, but it'll give you a +2 to Will checks on attempts to pickpocket the amulet.

I wish I could make it. I can't make the NYC meetups because I'm in Baltimore and I can't make the Baltimore meetup because I'm in NYC. Oh well...

September 19? That's Talk Like a Pirate Day. Since I couldn't drum up any interest on the 10th anniversary, may I once again propose Piratz Tavern in Silver Spring?

Alternative suggestion: Since cortex is scheduled for DC on the 20th, maybe that would be a good day for Piratz Tavern? That way the meet-up won't collide with the TLAPD crowd (unless cortex would dig that sort of thing). All I know is that I need to be at the Tavern on the 19th, and I don't want to miss the meet-up when cortex is in town.

Well, there is a (pretty fun looking) meetup happening in dc on the 20th. I guess the problem you keep running into is that silver spring is a good hour away for many of us even if we do have a car, whereas mt vernon is about 5 minutes.

Seems like (modulo this issue) there is consensus around Dougherty's, which sounds good to me.

I hate driving in Baltimore City. Navigating to Dougherty's looks nightmarish, but the Poncabird Pub looks much more findable, so my vote is for the latter.

Dougherty's is actually really easy to get to. Take 395 into the city, get on MLK, at the Howard Street diversion, bear to your right and it's right across from the Rite Aid.

I seriously doubt you'll be able to get cortex to Night Shift, so there's really no point in going to Poncabird Pub.

Still not sure whether I can make it, so I realize my vote doesn't count for much, but the Poncabird Pub looks to be in one of the many gaps in Baltimore's public transit system, and therefore definitely won't work for me.
