Search results including number of comments? September 13, 2009 7:32 AM   Subscribe

A minor pony: on the search results page, can the number of comments for each post be included in the "posted by" line, the same way it is on the main page?

When searching MeFi, I am usually most interested in finding threads with lots of comments. This is particularly true when searching AskMe, where having a large number of comments is usually a pretty good indication that a thread contains lots of quality suggestions, or has at least provoked an interesting discussion.

This sounds good, oulipian. I'll get pb on this right away.

I'm opposed to anything that makes the site more usable. I spent too much time here already.

Yeah, we can probably add this. Search is already pushing the server, so I just need to make sure the extra work involved with comment counts doesn't throw too many sparks.

Wow! Glad to see there is such support for this. I think it would make the search results much more useful.

ok, just added comment counts to search results and tuned things up a little. Let me know if you spot any problems.
