Denver: WTF. Last time, you all gave me this crap about how I never come out to meetups, how I had no community spirit, et cetera. Well, I say to you - what meetups? It's been two months! So why not get together, eh?
scrutiny is coming down here soon, so we'll have an occasion to get together during the last week or so of January. My little computer-calendar tells me that means somewhere between these options:
Saturday the 23rd
Friday the 29th
Saturday the 30th
... with, of course, the odd Thursday thrown in as a possibility. It's been ages since a meetup happened here, so naturally my impatient self leans toward the first of those dates; but what say ye? Which one works best? Where shall we go?

Friday the 29th could work for me. I think I'm taking a very slow pace and stopping by to visit with some family in Pennsylvania and Iowa, so it's unclear whether I'd be back by 1/23.

What wonderful timing! I was just going to make on of these threads! I vote for Friday the 29th as well (and I know that LoneFrontRanger, -t, peachfuzz, and Nailsthecat can tentatively make that date as well).
I also vote for the PS Lounge, in Denver, on east Colfax (near Colorado) for a location. We had the last meetup there (Cortex meetup) and it seemed like it worked well.

So it sounds like thus far the consensus is Friday, January 29th. PS sounds like a good plan to me, too. I'll hold off posting the official date for a day or two, though, so that people who primarily use Mefi at work and not on weekends can get a chance to see this tomorrow.

Well, that was a rather silly mistake. I meant: it's not on a Tuesday. Last time the plan was to eat pizza in the adjoining pizza joint, but when we got there, the sign told us that it was open every night of the week except Tuesdays; and unfortunately the last meetup happened to be on a Tuesday. So this time, since it won't be a Tuesday, we can eat pizza - is what I mean.

PS Lounge is actually tiny, and what's more it's not really a 'group' place. People tend to sit on their own downing bottle after bottle. We'll be the big, out-of-place group downing bottle after bottle together. Heh.

oh hai! so... it all depends. I am about 60% certain, and would be 100% if y'all were closer in to LoDo or the main bus terminal.
mr. lfr bowed out since he doesn't like crowds or noise, poor lad, and is attempting to bribe me with dinner at a friend's, so if I do make it, it'll be me all by my lonesome. And it further depends on: 1) if I can get out of work (have a 3:30-5 ordeal to attend) and 2) if I feel motivated enough to bus it down to Denver then ride allaway out there from the Market St. station, and last but not least 3) my good friends and ex roommates had a last minute emergency come up that means I have to come allaway BACK to north Boulder by no later than midnight to house- and pet-sit for their dog. Which means, if experience is my guide, riding the beer scooter on the fixie 5ish miles in the dark on potentially icy roads from the Boulder bus terminal. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
tl:dr: it's complicated. real complicated. Anyone up for a Boulder meetup at the SoSun anytime soon? I know I can drag the elusive mr. lfr out to that one, if only because it's 2 blocks from our house.

Poor old Dr. Dedento (my alleged "car") has been relegated to driveway sculpture for the past three months owing to various issues mainly related to laziness and bureaucracy.

Before I forget, there was talk of organizing a brewery tour in the future. (Or did I drunkenly dream it?) New Belgium, O'Dells or the Great Divide perhaps. Great idea!

Before I forget, there was talk of organizing a brewery tour in the future. (Or did I drunkenly dream it?) New Belgium, O'Dells or the Great Divide perhaps. Great idea!

there was talk of a brewery tour. ALSO, we discussed having a Boulder meetup in ~45 days or so. Anyone interested in the Southern Sun within the reasonably near future? Anyone? Bueller?
fieldtrip, sorry I don't have pictures. -t was the only one with a camera. Not to mention that it's waaaay too dark inside the PS lounge for anything much besides flash photography, really.

Awesome to see everyone, sorry not to have seen you this time around, fieldtrip and koeselitz!
If there is real interest in coming up to the Fort once the weather has warmed up a bit, I can promise good times drinking on the Odells patio (they've got a nitrous-carbonated version of their IPA that they sell only at the brewery that is so crazy fine-foamed that it makes all the hoppy and citrusy notes dance around in your sinuses) and maybe posole and tamales or something at our house, since the breweries close early. A Saturday afternoon kind of thing would prolly work best.

* Hop Disciples Meeting, next one is Thu Feb 18th (@6pm)
Tours take place at 3:00 pm and 4:00pm Monday - Friday and each hour starting at 2:00 pm to 7:00pm on Saturday. No reservations required.

The fair missus fresh would always go to Southern Sun, even if I weren't along. And we'd be up for a Ft. Collins meetup, since we're now located there. Sorry we missed the fun time this time 'round, we'll see you next time!

I would love to go to Ft. Collins or Boulder (Southern Sun) or whatever. And, I would try my damnedest to make it.
Also, that cat, no bueno, is moving here the last week of February and is up for a meetup by the first or second week of March. I think it is real nice to have a meetup to welcome new MeFites...but then again I'm a sucker that way.

I've nothing planned for the 2nd week either. Any day is fine for me, but I'll have a pretty early evening if it's on a weekday. Actually, Thursday would be really good.

Hi, I just moved back to the Denver area. I also finally signed up for metafilter after about 5 years of lurking. I've never been to a meetup, but you all seem like attractive and pleasant people. I could maybe make Boulder, although I might hold out for another Denver get-together.
