MeFi's own headspace has been nominated for an Edgar Award in the Best Young Adult category for her first novel Shadowed Summer. The Edgar Allan Poe Awards (popularly called the Edgars), are presented every year by the Mystery Writers of America. They honor the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction, television, film, and theater published or produced in the previous year.
Very cool.

This is truly awesome, well done, headspace!
I'm really looking forward to reading your new novel when it's published, too!

I admit, I saw my name and I was like what? What did I do?? Was I snarky today on AskMe??
But then I read it and I find this. Thank you guys all so much! I had no idea my book was under consideration, so being nominated was a shock and a delight.
And I have to say, this is definitely the way to go when it comes to being called out in Metatalk! Thank you again!!

Congrats! Your book is going on my wish list.
...this is definitely the way to go when it comes to being called out in Metatalk!
It beats a lot of the alternatives, that's for sure. Apropos of nearly nothing, I read yesterday that it was the first time in decades the mysterious Poe Toaster didn't make his annual tribute of cognac and flowers left on Edgar's grave.

Congrats, headspace! I will look for your book in the library, and then I will read it. (Unless it's too scary. Is it too scary? I know ghosts aren't real, but still...)
