Still curious where MetaFilter users are from?
The survey results are in.
A recent MetaTalk thread prompted me to make a survey to get an idea of where MetaFilter comes from. Here are the first 100 results (posted as a comment to avoid formatting issues).

Also, I doubt there's only one mefite from Buttland. This is the problem with collecting stats based on voluntary information.

Let's do an average of the GPS co-ordinates to find the most convenient spot for Mefites (per capita), and then hold a meetup there. If it's out in the middle of the ocean, that's okay. We'll just have it on a boat and enjoy the liberties of international waters.
Obligatory. Also, I just imagined Matt winning a free boat ride for three...

Just so everyone's clear - Canada is actually inside Quebec.
Back around the '95 referendum, the Royal Canadian Air Farce did a bit spoofing some of the federalist ads running at the time. It went something like:
Actor #1: I'm Jim, from Etobicoke, and my Canada includes Quebec.
Actor #2: I'm Shirley, from Medicine Hat, and my Canada includes Quebec.
Actor #3: I'm John, from Dartmouth, and my Canada includes Quebec.
Actor #4: Je m'appelle Gilles, de Sherbrooke, et mon Quebec inclut le Canada.
