Flash walk-overs? March 18, 2010 6:20 PM   Subscribe

There was a comment link to a guy doing walk-over video for websites. I'm pretty sure it was a joke. I lost the link and now I wonder if it was on MeFi at all.

So this website shows a guy with a...European? name walking over the top of these horrendous Flash videos. The point of the website was to demonstrate that he could really help you make your site better if you had all these overlays of yourself walking onto your website and talking to visitors.

Anybody remember that? I think it was within the last two months...but Google isn't helping.

All I can remember specifically was a similar thing involving RNC Chairgoldmine Michael Steele, though I'm sure other folks have also been leveraging this exciting new technology.

I think the term was "walk out" (maybe?)?

There was a product called "Weblin" - now defunct - but it was aimed at users as a sort of chat client, not at sites that I know of.

Maybe you saw it on MonkeyFilter (the link has been switched to a porn site).

I'm pretty sure that 80% of the content on the web is sarcastic.

There's another site by the same guy where he walks out in front of a big still image of a water fall. I think I prefer that one. It's just as bad, but more audacious. I can't find the link right now.

People who think this is a good idea are also people who thing that their web content should be in a PDF delivered through a Flash app that requires them to drag the corners of pages to the left to continue reading.

I wasn't even going to look at this thread, but I'm so glad now that I did.
