If you've been following the saga of the Schofields and their schizophrenic daughter, Jani, you might be interested in watching the hour-long TV documentary, Born Schizophrenic: January's Story, which airs tonight at 9:00 pm on Discovery Health as part of the station's "Psych Week" promotion.

Previously on Metafilter, with updates regarding their Oprah appearance and Michael's book deal on Metatalk.

I thought "thin" update threads went here and more substantial ones went on the blue? If not, could a mod please go ahead and close this?

OK, my bad. Sorry, everybody.

Wouldn't more people see this if it was posted to the Blue?

Don't take it personally infinitywaltz - at least, it's not personal for me. I think updatefilter is kind of a questionable use of MetaTalk in the first place but that this kind of post was sort of inevitable in the end. Ideally there wouldn't be spammers and threads would just stay open forever but in reality sometimes we just don't get to hear the 90-days-later update to every item posted to the blue. That's the way it goes.

i thought we decided that 'thin' updates don't go up anywhere.

Yeah, this is more "a thing that was posted on metafilter" than something really specifically metafilter related I think, which we've been talking about recently as something we're likely to discourage a bit. No harm done, infinitywaltz, but I'm gonna close this up.
