As mentioned in this post, iGoogle is going away.

So is this related to the plain search page that has Google+ access in the upper right hand corner....because I thought that was technically another way to use iGoogle. I need some discussion/explanation to understand this.

And how can this relate to Chrome?

I'm hoping this is MetaTalk discussion worthy *crosses fingers*

as far as i know, iGoogle refers to the customizable homepage version of google, and not anything related to search exactly.

Hey, sorry, but no... I'm afraid this is not a Metafilter-related question, so doesn't belong here.

(But the plain search page with Google+ in the upper corner is just the standard Google search page, which shouldn't be affected at all. iGoogle going away also won't change Chrome. If you need some more help, though, go ahead and ask on Ask Metafilter.)

Closing...
