2024 Fanfare EXTRAVAGANZA

Welcome to the first ever (as far as I know!) Fanfare extravaganza. I have created a place where we can share recommended books, movies, tv, music, games, podcasts we have read, watched, listened to, or played this year.

This sheet is for members of the Metafilter community to anonymously provide their recommendations of movies, books, tv, or music that they have watch, read, or listened to in the year 2024. The work does NOT need to be published within the year 2024.
Step 1: Navigate to the tab that fits your interest.
Step 2: Search for the title that you wish to recommend. If the title is already present in the sheet DO NOT overwrite any of the information in the sheet. Instead increase the number of recommendations by 1 (last column in the sheet). It's ok if disagree with the information in the row; please still let it stand so we don't lose recommendations and out of respect for the original person.
Step 3: if your title is not included in the tab, add it, filling out all the relevant information.
Step 4: if you are the first person to use a tab, you may decide on the column names/needed info. Please be sure to include number of recommendations as the last column.
Step 5: browse each list to your hearts' delight.

neat idea! I keep a little spreadsheet of the stuff I read/watch/play over the year, so I'm spending some time to carry things over.

What a great idea for a new end of year tradition!

(I added a fanfare link column to the two pages that have been populated so far; someone should move it or make it nicer, if you see a better way to do it.)

made some columns in the video game tab. I don't know if this is how anyone else feels but I never understand how to define genre properly for games so I just did one for genre (mechanics) and another for genre (narrative).

Just started the TV tab with A Man on the Inside.

It's a really good show.

A polite request to only add items you're willing to fill out the information for - there are a bunch of books with only titles right now, this makes the sheet less useful and pushes complete entries off the first screen.
