Unless you're asking for a change in the guidelines, pointing this out to Metatalkers when your intended audience are people who never read Metatalk is pretty much preaching to the choir. And we all know by now that even though we've debated every little thing here to death the guidelines probably won't change much.

I think your coughing fit in the thread was probably enough.

I suggest you curl up into the fetal position, puff out your lower lip, ball your hands up and pound on the floor.

Special ones, outlandish ones, or provacative ones are fine - matt

That covers a whole helluva lot of ground, and considering that the author of the linked article is Salman Rushdie, 'even a blind man can see' that this one is special.

i_cola, this, this & this seem to be the theme. What do I mean ? It seems of late a portion of FPP's are inspired by each other. I mention this to show you are an example even if your not heard in Meta-Talk.

Unfortunately the political ones can yell out like the Butcher, Snark.

This meta post was pointed out in the thread. That draws the intended audience over here. This is as it should be.

Yell out like the Butcher?

Tin Man, It took me awhile to figure it out;
tcs' wit is a bit esoteric, but definately worth following.

Mind you, I prefer a good corn holler myself...

I'm going to be Santa Clause for Halloween and a scarecrow elf at Xmas!

Oh, wait, it's all over and we're back to usual. -sigh-

Unfortunately the political ones can yell out like the Butcher, Snark.

ButcherSnark! That sounds like a fair compromise to me, Thomcat!

When Thomcatspike is the only one in the thread making sense, I fear for the future of America.

it has dissolved into chatter?

After I indicated that the FPP in question was allowable by Matt's own words (and exposed i_cola's contention as being misplaced), what else was left to do but chatter? ;-P
