Mozilla-specific bug September 25, 2003 1:08 PM Subscribe
Odd: using Mozilla 1.4, I can't enter text into the text fields on the search page -- but I can paste into them. What's up with that?

Furthermore, I'm able to type in the field once I've run a search, but hitting the backspace button takes me back a page rather than deleting.
Very odd. posted by me3dia at 1:10 PM on September 25, 2003
I've had Mozilla go crazy on me like that once or twice. Try quitting teh app, hitting ctrl-alt-del and killing the process completely (check the Processes pane in Win2k/XP). Is it only on Metafilter that this is happening? posted by Space Coyote at 1:11 PM on September 25, 2003
Yeah, I've been using MT, Google and commenting on other sites all day -- not to mention I'm able to comment here. Very strange indeed. I'll try your advice. posted by me3dia at 1:20 PM on September 25, 2003
That happens to me from time to time in Galeon on linux. Usually I can just windowshade and re-expand the window, and it goes back to normal. Sometimes I have to kill the process though.
Either way, I don't think it's a MeFi thing. posted by rusty at 1:20 PM on September 25, 2003
Yep, it went away. Thanks Space Coyote.
