Weird trackbacks? February 10, 2004 8:33 AM   Subscribe

Is there a reason every thread since this one has a trackback about the Dalai Lama and Bush?

Trackback Spam me-thinks. :( It was bound to happen.

I've noticed multiple trackbacks before - as many as six of the same trackback on one post ! - but it was never somehow quite so blatant as this.

I was rubbing my eyes at first and thinking - "Hey ! Didn't I see this somewhere before ? Did I just post that comment on the wrong thread ?"

Trackback Spam.

The linked page seems to be an average blog post running k5's Scoop, but if you look at the entry carefully, he's linked arbitrary single characters to various MeFi threads, which presumably sends TB pings to the linked pages. Looks like ping spam ("Sping?") to me.

That's a bug with MT re-pinging when a post is saved again after an edit, trout. Utterly innocent.

On the other hand, this fuckwit needs a good trouncing! Fly my pretties, fly!

I was wondering too how long it'd take. Although trackback spam to MT installations has popped up in the past.
