Is anyone else seeing strange formatting behavior on this thread? I'm seeing a white background, right sidebar stuff lining up on the left, and the page text beginning below the sidebar info. It looks like the stylesheet isn't being applied for some reason. (Firefox, Mozilla and IE)

Yes. Firefox 1.0 -- all I notice is the body tag is split onto multiple pages and none of the attributes are set.

just before the page renders (incorrectly) my status bar says "Connecting to localhost..."

Yes, for some reason there's a:
  <base href="http://localhost/">
instead of a:
  <base href="http://www.metafilter.com/">
which appears in archived entries that display OK.
