Update Spell Check November 26, 2004 4:18 PM Subscribe
Would it be possible to have the spell checker updated to accept some common words used here? Mefi and Metafilter (and all other variants thereof) get constantly tagged as misspellings, as do commonly used words like "snarky".
No big deal if it can't be done, but if it could it would be quite appreciated.

Mama mia! Those-ah mefiosas have-ah spilled linguini all over Guiseppe's checkered table cloth!
If this is to be a dictionary wish list thread *crosses fingers* then here's my additions:
All variants of the F word and the S word
WaPo, NYT, and other common abbreviations
(But, yeah, no rush... only if it's easy)

bugbread if your running firefox nab the extension spellbound. It'll let you spell check comment fields in your preferred language (USA, Canada, UK, German, Chinese etc). Its great I no longer get corrected for spelling 'labour' incorrectly and has the benefit of being able to add your own words etc.
Now if only someone would help me with my grammar ...
