I noticed a few long term members nabbed numbers right around it. Were they trying to make a play for an ebay sale of the 20k user?

That's at least $8K USD in 11 days. Karyn only averaged $1K per week.

I would have, if I had thought of it. Instead of this 19816 number I got instead.
On preview: username links have just changed to hide the user number. Nice.

16929 on November 17th - then the flood gates opened. Now 20000? So $15000.00+ is in the special fund? Is it something civic-minded Matt? Clean up the Willamette?

Username and number behavior are slightly different in MeFi and MeTa, and I believe Preview mode has a few quirks as well.

Not sure that there's any difference between MeFi and MeTa, but in preview mode it uses a different link that does not show the user number.

You are wrong and I claim my ten bucks.
I didn't play Spock's dad and I wasn't aiming for 20000. I've been waiting years to sign up and just got lucky. Unless I'm offered an outrageous amount I'll be keeping the account, thank you very much.
