We're having a hella cold winter here, aren't we? And none of last year's rain. Just cold, foggy, gray days. Depressing stuff. posted by mathowie at 12:03 AM on December 4, 2004
Oh, on the bright side in PDX is Sunday's Handmade Bazaar. I'll be there, shopping for various knitted things among the holier-than-thou hipster set. posted by mathowie at 12:07 AM on December 4, 2004
Speaking of the local weather, I really hope there's a repeat of last year's ice apocalypse. That was awesome.
Matt, word. I've been trying to put down some cycling miles and have been coming back cold as a mofo.
It's a wonder that more people don't have SAD here...

Hey, Matt, believe it or not, I was planning on going to the Holiday Bazaar on Sunday as well ... want to do a MeFi Meetup?
I really hope that there isn't a repeat of last year's ice apocalypse. I now live in a place where, if it's icy, I can not leave my driveway under any circumstances (too steep...). posted by SpecialK at 12:49 AM on December 4, 2004
Porland here, and less than ten blocks from George Spiggot, aparently.
And yeah, I've got jumper cables. posted by hob at 10:48 AM on December 4, 2004
I'm just down the freeway in Longview where nothing ever happens. posted by leftcoastbob at 12:17 PM on December 4, 2004
we live on a small acreage in the hills and more days than not it seems, these past weeks, the fog stays through the whole day and I can't see more than a 100 feet. It sure feels colder. I'm kinda hoping for another crazy weather system, if only so my girls can get in some sledding. I could do without an inch of ice on my cars (still haven't gotten around to building that garage...). posted by docpops at 3:07 PM on December 4, 2004
I welcome our recurring ice-tastrophe overlords. I live downtown; I walk to work (MAX a few blocks if I'm lazy and the timing is right); I don't give two figs about traffic conditions, and the low-friction antics of others provides me with cheap and plentiful entertainment.
Gleeful, mocking, gawking shock at Portlanders' collective inability to deal with freezing-weather road conditions is probably the one thing I'm glad to have taken from living in Worcester. posted by cortex at 8:39 PM on December 4, 2004
