A thread for the last New York Meetup of '05! (Probably.)
Sunday, Dec. 12. We'll meet at 3:00, and go until... probably a lot later than that. (These n00bs don't initiate themselves, you know.)
We'll all meet up at Dempsey's (as kind of agreed upon in this thread), but it may move in the leisurely Sunday afternoon way these things sometimes go...

Crud. Won't be able to make it two in a row. Christmas tree purchasing/decorating/various holiday shenanigans plans with the gf. Enjoy. Drink some spiked eggnog for me. Just don't confuse it with the enema bags. *shudder*

Amberglow, there was talk of the Magician, which opens a little later. It's a nice little joint.
The reason Sunday afternoon was chosen was as a change of pace, and for people who are always working/overbooked on Friday or Saturday.
But if that's the only time some of you can make it, then maybe we could have a pre-meetup Saturday night...

I'm wondering if with the extensive talk about my beloved piedmont triad region going on, if maybe we need to put together an NC meetup! I can see it now. Me, lyam, and Ishmael drinking 40s behind a wal-mart...arguing about whether it sucks or not.

On preview, i'm with adampsyche: Okay, I'm initiating the 'Great Meet-up Schism'. I'm not down for Sunday, but would enthusiastically attend an impromptu get-together on Saturday night, December 11. Does anyone else wish to have the additional option of making this Saturday night instead? Let’s get some heads together and try to make it happen...

Hadn't Sunday been decided upon after much deliberation in the last thread? I could be wrong about this, but I thought Sunday was chosen for a reason.
And this thread is three hours old. Shouldn't we maybe let everyone actually see this thread before we all go off and change plans that had been made already?

And fishfucker: I won't get extra drunk for you. Because that would be wrong.
And sheeit, there's an entire city block of Matthew Barney porn shops. It's between the Keith Haring bondage parlors and the Bangladeshi Hell's Angels furniture outlet.

chicobangs, et al: oh snap, it's a motherfucking meet-up dance-off. Sorry to throw indecision to the wind...I don't want to kafuffle the dynamics for the weekend nyc meet-up, but wanted to make another option for myself and others who cannot possibly make Sunday. Impromptu, god dammit! Very casual and low-key. Listen, if you can't make Sunday, come on Saturday, and vice-versa. As for the Saturday night option, I haven't been to either bar, so I'll leave it to popular opinion to decide. Double Happiness looks awesome, and I heart chinatown...but B Bar looks very accomodating for a meetup. Anyway, i'll see you sexay bitches on Saturday, and wish the best for Sunday's lucky best happy gathering.

* Saturday, December 11 - 8 pm - Double Happiness (174 Mott Street)
A smaller and darker joint, but still a fine place for those who can't make the Sunday meetup.
* Sunday, December 12 - 3pm - Dempsey's Tavern (2nd Ave. Between 3rd & 4th Sts.)
This is a larger place, better for photo ops and complete takeovers.
I'll be at both places. Email me if you have any questions.
