why is there no link to the green from the blue? December 10, 2004 10:33 AM Subscribe
Maybe stupid to ask, but why is there no link to the green from the blue?
Matt considers AskMetaFilter to be "beta" at the moment, so doesn't link it directly. Which I think is silly, but, given how many questions we get already, it's probably a good thing.

Seems like it would save a little bit of bandwidth every month if one could just clickthrough to AskMe. Me, I've got links to all three on my linkbar, so whatever.

Why don't they call them webmarks, sitemarks or something? Bookmarks has a horseless-carriagey sound to them.

Um, isn't there a redesign content in the works? And one of the motivating factors was that the current design doesn't have such a link, and can't really incorporate it?

It's an old joke from back when every few minutes, some goob would come along and post another link to the oh-so-high-larious Amazon product reviews for some kind of vibrating toy.

What do I get for posting (or ceasing to post) so many comments here? Or there? Or anywhere? (I type more now than I used to wank when I was 13.)

Getting serious: "Ask" will probably really only work well if the contributing population is motivated, which argues for making it a trivially little bit difficult to get to. Though I do buy the beta reason...
